Australia was determined to turn the situation against India after Afghanistan's defeat
In their quest for a semi-final spot in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Australia will take on the challenge of India on June 22. This comes after their devastating 21-run defeat to Afghanistan in their penultimate Super Eights match.
Australia's campaign could come to an abrupt end if India triumphs over Australia and Afghanistan defeats Bangladesh on June 24 to advance to the semi-finals.
Marsh said that the India match was important and that it was a "must-win game," thinking that the pressure would make his team perform at their highest level.
Speaking honestly about the loss, Marsh acknowledged that Afghanistan outperformed them, winning two vital points with good cricket play.
"They got 20 too many. They also played a really nice game of cricket, to be honest. Tonight, we were outplayed," Marsh continued.
Marsh stated that both sides used the same surface for play and offered no explanation for the pitch. He went on to say that Australia had a bad night in the field because they missed a few catches and a few misfields resulted in boundaries.
