Nepal Plays Against South Africa for the first Time in T20 Worldcup
As Nepal prepared for its historic first-ever international cricket match against South Africa. At the T20 World Cup, the Nepalese team played their third group-stage match against South Africa.
Nepal had never played an ODI or T20I match against South Africa. But Nepal has participated in the U19 World Cup and won against South Africa.
In T20I cricket, South Africa was Nepal's 25th opponent. Furthermore, as Afghanistan was not a Test-playing country in 2014, the Proteas would be the sixth Test-playing team that Nepal has faced in a Twenty20 International match. Rain caused the match between Nepal and Sri Lanka, their most recent T20I cricket opponent, to be called off.
After the play, though, Nepal was unable to move on as they were defeated by South Africa by a single run. The Nepalese team needed to win their final two games to advance to the Super Eight.
