Afghanistandefeated Bangladesh in their Super 8 match to go to the 2024 T20 World Cup semi-finals, and Rashid Khan was the hero in the process.
However, an incident shown that even the greatest players can make mistakes. With just 14 balls remaining in the innings and his team suffering at 93-5, Rashid Khan, batting first in a crucial match, came out to bat.
Rashid, therefore, became enraged with teammate Karim Janat when Afghanistan was unable to turn a single run into two and furiously tossed his bat at him.
The event took place in Afghanistan's innings on the third ball of the final over (19.3). Rashid's shot had found its way into the area of cover. Though Rashid felt a second was possible, Janat sent him back halfway down the pitch.
The captain of Afghanistan was furious and showed it by throwing his bat at Janat and then storming back to his crease.
Given that the Afghanistan captain had hit two sixes prior to the incident and was itching to get back on the field, Rashid's ire made sense.
By good fortune, Rashid managed to get strike again after one ball and end the Afghanistan innings with a third six.
