In memory of the late David Johnson, Rohit Sharma and the team wear black armbands.

In honor of former India cricketer David Johnson, Rohit Sharma's Team India will be wearing black armbands during Thursday's ICC T20 World Cup 2024encounter against Rashid Khan's Afghanistan.

Several hours before Team India and Afghanistan's Super 8 match in the Caribbean began, Indian cricket fans expressed their sorrow over the untimely passing of former fast bowler Johnson.

Just before play at the Kensington Oval began, the BCCI said, "Team India will wear black armbands today in memory of former India fast bowler David Johnson, who passed away on Thursday."

The former Indian bowler passed away after tumbling from the balcony of his Bengaluru residence on the fourth level.
