In the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings, Dipendra Singh Airee moves up to sixth place.
The Nepali star, Dipendra Singh Airee, has made significant progress in the most recent ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings, which is a testament to his heroics with the six-ball.
During an ACC Men's T20I Premier Cup match against Qatar in Al Amerat on Saturday, Airee became the third player to smash six sixes in an over, joining the likes of India great Yuvraj Singh and West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard. Airee took 36 runs from Kamran Khan's final six balls on his way to an undefeated 64*.
In addition to helping Nepal defeat its Asian foe by a comfortable margin of 32 runs, the achievement also saw Airee advance in the T20I batter and all-rounder rankings, which were updated by the ICC on Wednesday.
In the most recent rankings, Airee moved up 16 spots to rank 61st among T20I batters and up 14 spots to rank 11th among T20I all-rounders, putting him on the verge of the top 10.
In the ICC rankings, this is the highest place a Nepalese player has ever held. At this point, Airee is rated higher than all-around greats like Aiden Markram, Moeen Ali, and Hardik Pandya.
Marcus Stoinis of Australia has emerged as the top T20I all-rounder, with Wanindu Hasaranga and Shakib Al Hasan trailing in second and third, respectively.
