Pakistan Board Issues "Legal Action" Threat Following Haris Rauf's Discourse With A Fan
The head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Haris Rauf, has sent a strong warning to the fan that got into a fight with the team's senior cricket player.
Following his team's 2024 T20 World Cup elimination, the Pakistani pacer got into a fight with a supporter while accompanied by his spouse.
Divergent views emerged on social media after the incident's footage went viral, with some people supporting Rauf's response and others criticizing it. In response to the event, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has now also spoken out, threatening legal action until the fan apologizes.
Condemn with all sincerity the horrible event that involved Haris Rauf. Such behavior directed at our players is totally intolerable and will not be accepted "said Naqvi.
"Those who are involved must immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, failing which we will pursue legal action against the individual responsible," he stated.
Both Rauf's present and past colleagues defended him and asked the supporters to act appropriately when they see the cricket players in public.
The first to publicly support Rauf was Hasan Ali, who stated that while player criticism is welcome, it should be delivered in a polite manner.
