PCB Breaks Silence On Match-Fixing Allegation Against Babar Azam and Co.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)has requested those making accusations of spot-fixing and match-fixing against the Pakistan cricket team to provide "proof" of their claims after they appeared online.

The board further declared that anyone who makes an unfounded accusation will face legal repercussions. The PCB's announcement was not official because Cricket Pakistan cited an officer from the regulating body. The source called the claims "baseless," even if it acknowledged that the PCB is aware of the "negative comments."

It's important to note that after Babar Azam and company's early elimination from the T20 World Cup 2024, these accusations are starting to surface.

We are aware of these unfavorable remarks. If criticism stays within the rules of the game, it is permissible and will not be met with resistance. On the other hand, false accusations such as match-fixing would never be accepted," a PCB insider stated, citing the news organization located in Pakistan.

In reply to the allegations, the news outlet also inquired as to whether the board will look into the matter further.

"PCB is certain, so why should we look into it? The people who made the accusations ought to back them up. Our legal staff has been given the go-ahead to notify these people and request proof.

We will pursue restitution for slander if it is not given. According to the sources, a recent law in Punjab guarantees a decision in less than six months.

Following Pakistan's 2024 T20 World Cup group stage elimination, officials and former cricket players have been vocal in their criticism of the Babar Azam-led team.

According to Luqman, the Pakistani captain and team have manipulated matches. These grave accusations were made after Babar was spotted behind the wheel of a very costly Audi E-Tron. Although Babar claims that his brother gave him the car as a present, the journalist thought otherwise.

"A few days ago, Babar Azam received an Audi E-Tron," he said. Babar said that his brother gave him the automobile, but I discovered that his brother doesn't do anything at all.
