Tanzim Hasan Sakib beats Nepal to make a record for the T20 World Cup.
Sakib was named man of the match for his outstanding 4-7 bowling performance, which contributed significantly to Bangladesh's triumph.
In this intense four-over period, he bowled the most dot balls of any bowler in a T20 World Cup match—21.
The previous record for the most dot balls bowled in a T20 World Cup match was shared by seven bowlers, Trent Boult of New Zealand and Ottneil Baartman of South Africa, who each bowled 20 dot balls.
With nine runs scored in the third over, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who was defending a modest total of 106, gave the breakthrough with the new ball by removing Kushal Bhurtel (4) and Anil Shah (0).
With scores of 4–7 from his superb bowling, Sakib was named man of the match. He played a crucial role in restricting Bangladesh to a small score of 106, capturing early wickets of Anil Shah and Kushal Bhurtel to severely hamper Nepal's chase early on.
Nepal's problems worsened when Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman claimed further wickets, causing them to fall to 26-5 in just seven overs.
Even though Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee put up a strong 52-run partnership, their effort was not enough to lead Nepal to victory. Nepal's innings ended at 85 as Shakib Al Hasan took the last two wickets, despite Malla's best score of 27 and Airee's 25.
Bangladesh joined South Africa as qualifiers from Group D and advanced to the Super 8 stage of the competition thanks to this significant victory.
