Abdul Razzaq speaks up following his expulsion from the selection committee
In response to the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision to remove him from the team's selection board, former all-star cricketer Wahab Riaz stated he gave it his all "for the betterment of Pakistan cricket."
The PCB earlier acknowledged in a statement released today that Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq's services are no longer needed in the national selection committee due to the team's poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The former cricket player made his statement on X, formerly Twitter, following the PCB's decision to relieve him of his section board duties.
"My time serving as a member of selection committee for PCB comes to an end, I just want my people to know that I have served the game I love with faith and sincerity and have given 100 percent for the betterment of Pakistan cricket," the former player said.
"Being a member of the selection panel has been an honor. It was an honor to work together as a team to make decisions as part of the seven-man panel that chose the national team. Each vote was given equal weight, and we shared equal responsibility for the selection process. It was a privilege to play a part in that."
"I appreciate everyone who has prayed for me. He ended by saying, "I hope the Pakistan cricket team has all the success it deserves in the future.
Along with the captain and head coach, the board has decided to keep Muhammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, and Bilal Afzal on the selection panel.
