Australia reaches the final of the Test Championship beating India
The Australian cricket teamhas entered the finals of the World Test Championship. Australia won the series 3-1 with a 6-wicket victory in the fifth Test against India and reached the final for the second time in a row.
Australia completed the target of 162 runs given by India in the fourth innings in the second session of the third day with the loss of 4 wickets and captured the series 3-1. Travis Head scored an unbeaten 34 and Beau Webster scored an unbeaten 39 in Australia's win.Usman Khawajascored 41 runs. India's Prasidh Krishna took three wickets and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket.
Before starting their second innings, India, who had a lead of 4 runs, were bowled out after adding another 157 runs. India's Rishabh Pant scored 61 runs while Yashshwi Jaiswal scored 22 runs. Australia's Scott Boland took 6 wickets. Taking 4 wickets in the first innings, he also achieved the first 10-wicket figure of his Test career.
India won the toss in the final Test and batted first. On the first day, it was bowled out for 185 runs. In response, Australia was bowled out for 181 runs. India, in turn, managed only 157 runs, gaining a slim lead of 4 runs and setting Australia a target of 162 to chase.
While India won the first test, Australia won the second and fourth tests and the third test was a draw.
South Africahave already qualified for the final of the Test Championship. For the first time, South Africa will compete in the Test Championship final.
In June, Lord's in England will host the World Test Championship 2023–25 final. Since the Test Championship started in 2019, Australia and New Zealand have each won once.
