CAN suspends Apsari Begam, a female cricket player
Begam was suspended and the national cricket governing body's disciplinary committee was tasked with conducting additional inquiry during a meeting of its core work execution committee on Thursday.
A closed training camp is now taking place in Kathmandu for the Women's T20 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from July 19 to July 28. The cricket player is accused of misbehaving with the team management and coach during this time.
"In light of this serious violation of the code of conduct, it has been decided to immediately suspend the player from the training camp and assign the responsibility of further investigation and necessary actions to the disciplinary committee," CAN stated in a statement on Friday.
Vice President Roshan Kumar Singh is one of the four persons from whom CAN has chosen to request an explanation in the interim.
