David Miller Receives One Merit Point for Violating the ICC Code of Conduct
Exploding In a Super Eights Group 2 T20 World Cup encounter against England, South Africanbatsman David Miller was admonished and given one penalty point for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Article 2.8 of the ICC Code, which deals with "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match," was broken by David Miller. Miller received one demerit point added to his disciplinary record as a result.
Miller's disciplinary record now has one demerit point since it was his first offense in a 24-month period. The incident happened in South Africa's innings' nineteenth over.
Miller anticipated that his full throw from pacer Sam Curran would be ruled a "no ball" due to its height.
The left-hander disapproved of the umpire's ruling when it was not ruled a "no ball" by indicating that it should be reviewed even though it was impossible.
There was no formal hearing because Miller acknowledged the offense and agreed to the punishment suggested by match referee Jeff Crowe.
On-field umpires Chris Brown and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, third umpire Joel Wilson, and fourth umpire Chris Gaffaney brought the accusation against Miller.
