In a brutal onslaught, Rohit Sharma smacks Mitchell Starc for four sixes.
During the T20 World Cup Super Eight match in St Lucia, Indian captain Rohit Sharmaunleashed an amazing assault on Australia's premier pacer Mitchell Starc, hitting him for four sixes in one over.
After Josh Hazlewood handed India a severe blow by removing Virat Kohli for a five-ball duck in the match's second over, Rohit unleashed his powerful hitting.
After choosing to bowl, Australia had made a strong start to the match, giving up just five runs in the opening over before Hazlewood landed three consecutive dot balls on Kohli's plate.
Nevertheless, Rohit did not let the early loss stop him; in the second over of the match, Starc, displayed a display of power striking. Starc bowled an entire delivery outside off, but Rohit opened the over with a soaring six over deep extra cover.
After a thick edge from Rohit's bat failed to travel to the slip, the ball bumped before it reached the fielder in the previous over, the Indian captain made it two in a straight when Starc maintained the same length, presumably to induce an outside edge.
That being said, Rohit took a chance once more, stretching out for the ball outside off and hitting it in the same area for a sixth. Rohit hammered this one over mid-on as Starc adjusted his line between middle and leg, making 16 runs off the first three deliveries.
Starc pitched it short, allowing the Indian skipper to score his fourth consecutive boundary. The longest six of the over, 96 metres, was achieved by the Indian skipper, who remained at his crease and pulled the delivery over deep midwicket.
Starc's juicy full toss allowed Rohit to smash a fourth six of the over after a rare dot ball and a wide. The over yielded 29 runs when Rohit swung his bat over the line, sending the top edge flying over third man.
