In Sri Lanka, Nepali women lost their first practice match
The national women's cricket team of Nepallost their first practice match in Sri Lanka by a score of 33 runs.
Nepal is preparing for the ACC Women's Asia Cup 2024, which kicks off in Sri Lanka on July 19, by playing three Twenty20 matches against the Sri Lanka Development Squad.
The host team, who was invited to bat first by the Nepalese team, scored 118/8 in the 20 overs that were given. Top scorers with 27 runs each were Imesha Dulani and Kaushini Nuthyangana, who had both participated in a couple WT20I matches.
Pacer Sabnam Rai took three wickets for Nepal, while Rajmati Airee claimed one wicket. The second inning rain caused the aim to be changed to 96 runs from 15 overs.
Nepal finished the 15 overs with a meager 63/9. With a run-a-ball score of 17, Rubina Chhetri topped the batting order, while Sita Rana Magar managed a slow 28 balls to score 11. Dewmi Vihanga took three wickets for Sri Lanka, while Shehani claimed a few wickets.
The second game is scheduled for tomorrow, July 10. Before playing the final T20 match on July 16, the Nepalese squad will have five days of preparation at Colts and Moore.
