Nepal women lose second practice match in Sri lanka
The national women's cricket team of Nepallost their second practise match at Surrey Village Cricket Stadium in Maggona on Wednesday by four wickets, marking their second straight loss in their ACC Women's T20 Asia Cup preparation tour.
The Sri Lanka Development Squad overcame the 107 mark set by Nepal in 19.5 overs while losing six wickets.
To lead her team to win, Malki Madara produced an outstanding six-ball sixteen when the hosts needed twenty runs from their final two overs.
On Tuesday, Nepal had suffered a 33-run defeat in their first practice match. Next Tuesday, Nepal will play their final warm-up match against the same opponents.
Nepal will use the preliminary series to get ready for the 2024 ACC Women's T20 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Dambulla from July 19 to July 28.
On July 19, Nepal, who was drawn into Group A, will play the United Arab Emirates in their Asia Cup opener. Their next group games are scheduled for July 21 against Pakistan, the runners-up in 2012 and 2016, and July 23 against India, the current champions and record seven-time winners.
