Jimmy Neesham arrived in Kathmandu to play NPL
New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Nisam has arrived in Kathmandu to play in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).Neesham will play NPL for Janakpur Bolts. Nisam, making his first visit to Nepal, expressed excitement about playing in the NPL with the Janakpur Bolts.
He shared that he had previously played alongside Ben Mike, who is also part of the Bolts team.Janakpur Bolts Director Amit Shrestha and MD Niroj Khatiwada welcomed Nisam at Tribhuvan Airport.Janakpur Bolts won their first match of the NPL, defeating Biratnagar Kings. Nisam lost the first game. After the departure of Nisam, Janakpur Bolts have become stronger.
He is the biggest player to be signed in Janakpur. The 34-year-old all-rounder Neesam has played 12 Tests, 76 ODIs, and 79 T20Is for New Zealand.He brings valuable experience from playing in various franchise leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League.He has played for New Zealand in the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Nisam was also part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2025, which was held in the West Indies and the United States.Janakpur, where Nepali wicketkeeper Asif Sheikh is the marquee player, has former Nepali national team coach Pubud Dasanayake as its head coach.
