Rishabh Pant's Casual Approach Infuriates Rohit Sharma
India's third-ranked player, Rishabh Pant, has surprised everyone at the T20 World Cup. In his debut tournament for India in eighteen months, Pant has rediscovery his magic in a role that was Virat Kohli's for years.
But, Pant has seized the No. 3 position as India teams up with captain Rohit Sharma as the opener for Kohli. His five-inning total of 152 runs may not be the most impressive, but his 135.7 strike rate has been very important for India.
Pant has always grabbed the bull by the horns and played strokes all over the field when Rohit or Kohli have gone short. However, that is what Rishabh Pant brings to the table. While some of them haven't worked, the most of them have.
Many were unhappy by Pant's wicket, but presumably not more than Kohli, who was clearly distraught over his teammate's dismissal.
Soon after Pant was replaced, Kohli was spotted talking and making a lot of hand gestures with his skipper while seated next to Rohit in the dugout.
Australia is trailing India by one wicket in their chase of 206 runs at St Lucia, thanks to the efforts of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head. In the first over, David Warner was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.
Later, Rohit Sharma became enraged with Rishabh Pant as he made a nonchalant approach while attempting a catch.
