Sheikh Brothers Shine as Champion and Runner-Up in NPL
Father Mohammad was a supporter of Janakpur Bolts, where his younger son Asif Sheikh played, while his mother was a supporter of Sudurpaschim Royals, where his elder son Arif played. Father Mohammed wanted both his sons to compete in the finals of the NPL match. Finally, that happened. Arif Sheikh and Asif Sheikh, born from the womb of Sama Praveen, competed for the title in the final match at the T.U International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, representing different teams. Their parents also cheered for their two sons' teams by becoming supporters of different teams. Father Mohammed said that both his sons will play in the NPL match, and he wants both teams to compete in the finals. When two sons from the same house played in different teams, it was certain that one would win and the other would lose. That's why I was forced to support one of them. 'With both sons representing different teams in the NPL, I was overjoyed when my wish for both sons to play in the finals was fulfilled.
Sama Praveen said that although her mother and father support different teams in the Sheikh family, Muskan Praveen, the sister of both players, supports both brothers' teams. "Mother and father were in favor of different teams. For me, I was a fan of both brothers because they were equal." She said she supported both teams because of the brothers' hard work and perseverance.
Father Mohammad and his sons Arif and Asif remember that they struggled a lot to reach this place today. The sons used to play everywhere. I used to cheer up by watching the game when I went there, Mohammad said, 'I used to provide all kinds of sports materials needed to play cricket.
