Nepal loses to Bangladesh by 21 runs in T20 World Cup
Nepal was unable to chase a target of just 107in a close contest, therefore missing out on their first victory over a Test-playing nation.
In their final group-stage match, they were defeated by Bangladesh by a margin of 21 runs. Nepal finished the season with just one point after losing three games and calling off one due to inclement weather.
After dismissing Bangladesh for 106 runs, the Nepalese team had another fantastic chance to defeat the test-playing country. They lost their next 13 matches against the nation that plays test cricket, though, as they were bowled out for just 85 runs in 19.2 overs.
Batting first, Nepal limited Bangladesh to a pitiful 106 in 19.3 overs thanks to an outstanding stint from Sompal Kami, who struck with the first ball.
In T20 World Cups, this is Bangladesh's lowest total against a fellow country. Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal also reached his 100 wicket milestone in T20Is.
Sompal Kami (2/10), Sandeep Lamichhane (2/17) Rohit Paudel (2/20), Dipendra Singh Airee (2/22), and Sompal Kami (2/10) all claimed two wickets apiece for Nepal.
Nepal was only able to produce 85 runs in 19.2 overs in response. They were down to 26 for 5 at one point, but Dipendra Singh Airee (25), and Kushal Malla (27), put up a heroic 57-run stand for the sixth wicket to right the ship and keep them in the hunt.
The hitters from Bangladesh lost wickets frequently and were unable to establish a significant partnership. Mahmudullah (13) and Shakib Al Hasan shared the highest partnership of 22 runs for the fifth wicket.
Shakib left for 17 too. Bangladesh reached the hundred run barrier with a few runs added by the tail. Taskin Ahmed scored an undefeated twelve runs, while Rishad Hossain scored thirteen.
