GT20 Canada 2024 opening to feature Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi
The Vancouver Knights and Toronto Nationals will square off in an intriguing contest to kick off the GT20 Canada 2024 tournament on July 25.
The Toronto Nationals will be strengthened by Shaheen Afridi and Romario Shepherd, while the Vancouver Knights will be dependent on the expertise of Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Rizwan.
The six teams will play seven games apiece during the league phase, which runs from July 25 to August 6. August 9 is the start of the playoffs, which end on August 11 with the championship game.
There will be two non-match days dotted throughout the 13-day competition, along with 21 league games.
The entire Canadian national team, led by captain Saad Bin Zafar, leading run scorer Nicholas Kirton, and Aaron Johnson who just became the first player to score a half-century on the difficult New York pitch during the ICC T20 World Cup will also be competing in this edition of the GT20 Canada. This is the first time Canada has participated in an ICC Cricket T20 World Cup.
