Pacer's apologies ended the altercation between Yousuf and Shaheen
The news broke amid reports that Yousaf, who was pointing out that Afridi was bowling no-balls repeatedly, had complained to Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, about Afridi's behaviour towards the coaches.
It was revealed that the incident happened during net practise in Headingley, prior to the World Cup, and that Afridi had behaved disrespectfully towards Yousaf. Afridi became enraged at this intervention, and the two got into a heated argument.
The team management chastised Afridi, which caused him to realize his error and apologize to Yousuf in front of the team, thus resolving the issue. The incident was labeled a 'heat of the moment' incident.
In their assessment, the coaches expressed dissatisfaction with Afridi's conduct during the World Cup.
A meeting was held to discuss imposing heavy penalties on Shaheen Shah Afridi and two to three other players.
A deal was made to provide homegrown talent with additional chances in the local series versus Bangladesh. In addition, a training camp was agreed to be held in Rawalpindi to prepare for the two Test matches.
