Schedule for Gautam Gambhir's debut as head coach of India revealed
Early in August, India will go to Sri Lanka for a scintillating three-match T20I series and an equal number of ODIs. The visit is scheduled to begin in late July or early August.
With a two-day gap between each match, the series begins with back-to-back Twenty20 Internationals on July 26 and 27, then moves on to ODIs starting on August 1.
Both sides will have new head coaches: Gautam Gambhir will manage India, while Sanath Jayasuriya will lead Sri Lankain his capacity as an interim coach. This is Gambhir's maiden task since Rahul Dravid's successful stint, which resulted in India's 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
India and Sri Lanka played their final bilateral white-ball series in July 2021, with Shikhar Dhawan leading the squad and Dravid serving as the team's temporary coach. The ODI series was won by India 2-1, and the T20Is were won by Sri Lanka by an identical margin.
The T20Is will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, while the ODIs will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Both fans and players can expect an exciting environment at both venues.
