Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are not going to tour Sri Lanka
When Bangladesh visits India for two Test matches and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) beginning on September 19, the Indian cricket board wants the team captain who won the T20 World Cup and the other two seniors to take some extra time off before returning for a full season.
From July 27 to August 7, there will be three ODIs and the same number of T20Is during the Sri Lankan tour.
Following the recent World Cup, Sharma and Kohli announced their retirement from T20Is, although Bumrah stated he would still play the format for his country. The selection committee is scheduled to convene the following week to choose the team.
The BCCI wants to give the three more time to recover because they have been playing cricket regularly for the past few months, which would help them properly prepare for the significant duties. The selection committee will be meeting next week, and the team for the Sri Lanka series is expected to be revealed.
"Senior players can relax and prepare for the upcoming cricket season." After being given time off, Rohit, Virat, and Bumrah will play for the squad in September's Test matches against Bangladesh."
