Karnali Yaks edge past Chitwan Rhinos in final-over thriller in NPL
At Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Karnali Yaks defeated Chitwan Rhinos on the final ball to win by six wickets in the exciting tenth game of the Nepal Premier League 2024–25.
The Chitwan Rhinos, who batted first, amassed 130 runs at a cost of seven wickets in their 20 overs. The Rhinos innings never really took off because Karnali were disciplined with the ball and never allowed Chitwan to really build any pressure. Consistently losing wickets, and not being able to find boundaries or regular singles, meant that Chitwan had no chance to set a score they could defend.
Karnali approached their innings methodically, keeping pace with the run-rate after an early wicket and with middle-order batting looking strong. Then in the tension-filled final overs of the match, the Yaks looked calm as they reached the winning target with only 1 ball to spare.
Final Scores:
Chitwan Rhinos: 130/7 (20)
Karnali Yaks: 132/4 (19.5)
