Kathmandu Gurkhas defeat Karnali Yaks by 3 wickets in a thrilling NPL encounter

In a tightly contested sixth match of the Nepal Premier League at Kirtipur’s Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, the Kathmandu Gurkhas clinched a dramatic 3-wicket win over Karnali Yaks, with just three balls to spare. 

The Gurkhas bowing first after winning the toss created early pressure and their bowling unit had the game under control. Zeeshan Maqsood, BP Sharma, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, and NK Yadav each claimed a wicket as Karnali finished at 149/5. Skipper S. Dhawan's steady performance of 72* off 51 balls kept the innings together.

Chasing 150, the Gurkhas struggled losing wickets but recovered at 57 runs for the fifth wicket combination of Gerhard Erasmus (38 off 28 balls) and Sumit Maharjan (40* off 37, including 2 fours).

Maharjan stood out in the crowd, and his cool demeanor helped him get the Player of the Match.
