Kathmandu Gurkhas loses to Sudurpaschim Royals by 73 runs in ninth NPL match
Sudurpaschim Royals dominated the game, beating Kathmandu Gurkhas by 73 runs in the Ninth match of the NPL. Sudurpaschim won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring a great total of 167/6 in 20 overs. Brandon McMullen (53 off 36) and captain Dipendra Singh Airee (43 off 25) led the way in support of Binod Bhandari (35).
Kathmandu Gurkhas simply couldn't keep up with the batting onslaught. In response, the Gurkhas crumbled to a mere 94 all out in just 15.5 overs.
Naren Saud led the bowling with outstanding figures of 5/19 from 3.5 overs, turning the match.
Abhinash Bohara and Brandon McMullen each had 2 wickets (2/12), while Saif Zaib also bagged a wicket.
Stephen Eskinazi was the only player to really hang on with the bat, ending with 37 off 33 balls - the second leading score. The other batsmen just failed early and often.
