For the ICC T20 World Cup East-Asia Qualifier, Nepal was assigned to Group "B"
In the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Regional Qualifier, Nepal has been assigned to Group B. The tournament is part of the qualification process for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the group divisions on Thursday. Nepal will face Japan and Kuwait in Group B.
The regional qualification, which will be contested in Oman from October 8 to October 17, 2025, will feature nine teams. Three groups are formed from the teams:
Group A: United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Qatar
Group B: Nepal, Kuwait, Japan
Group C: Oman (hosts), Papua New Guinea (PNG), Samoa
The tournament will be played in a single round-robin format in the group stage, with each team playing against the other teams in its group.
The top two teams from each group will move on to the Super Six stage, which will be held from October 12 to 17. In this stage, the six qualifying teams will compete for three available spots in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
This qualifier is an excellent opportunity for Nepal to go closer to competing in one of the world's most prestigious cricket competitions. Fans around the country will be praying that the national team does well and qualifies for the World Cup.
