Pat Cummins will portray a character in children's television shows
Pat Cummins, the Australian cricket captain who has guided his team to numerous victories, has joined the cast of 'Snick and Willow', a new animated kids' cartoon series. The show follows two cricket-loving kids who use the game to encourage pleasure, friendship, and fair play. The show, produced by Xentrix Studios, centers on Willow, an Australian girl who enjoys fast bowling, and Snick, an Indian guy.
Together, they travel around the world looking for cricket treasures to help save their local cricket club from being shut down by developers. Cummins, currently in the West Indies, shared his excitement, saying he’s always wanted to help grow the game of cricket. He thinks the show is a great way to introduce cricket to children in a fun and colorful way. He’s especially happy about Willow’s character, hoping she will inspire more young girls to enjoy cricket.
Eleven-year-old Australian Willow and her father, Coach Johnno Evans, relocate to India. Although adjusting to a new country is tough, Willow’s friendly and curious nature helps her adapt quickly. While Cummins’s role in the show is still being decided, he believes the cartoon mixes adventure, mystery, and sportsmanship well and fits with Cricket Australia’s plans to reach more young people and promote diversity.
Besides Snick and Willow, other characters include PERCI (a talking, high-tech cricket ball), Batin and Balu, Sir Malik, Madam Chair Sunita, Coach Evans, and Ajun. The show is meant for kids aged 5 to 12 and their families.
